About the Journal
International Journal of Islamic Law and Society (IJILS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Academic Publishing in Humanities and Islam (APHI) Indonesia. The journal is dedicated to advancing scholarly research and critical discourse on Islamic law in its diverse classical and contemporary dimensions.
IJILS provides an international platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish original research articles, conceptual papers, and case studies that explore the dynamic relationship between Islamic law and society. The journal promotes an interdisciplinary approach and welcomes contributions addressing contemporary legal issues from both local and global perspectives.
The scope of IJILS encompasses, but is not limited to, Islamic law, comparative law, socio-legal studies, constitutional law, criminal law, family law, economic and financial law, human rights, legal philosophy, legal pluralism, public policy, and other interdisciplinary studies related to Islam, law, and society.
IJILS is published biannually, with two issues released each year. The first issue is published in June, while the second issue is published in December.

The inaugural issue of the International Journal of Islamic Law and Society (IJILS) presents six scholarly articles examining the dynamic relationship between Islamic law and contemporary societal transformation. This edition explores proportionality in criminal justice, the balance between marital rights and human rights, the implications of artificial intelligence for child protection, the legal and economic dimensions of zakat governance, the role of Islamic institutions in preserving social values, and the adaptation of judicial mediation in the digital era.
